  I've had personal experience in this hospital, as well as known people who've had stays here. There are some very kind and competent staff, but there are quite a few rude, unattentive and downright incompetent staff also. It really depends on what part of the hospital you are in and whose shift it is as to the quality of care you receive. The ER is absolutely horrible. Expect long wait times, even when it is not busy. Expect rude treatment by the nurses and doctors. Don't expect attentiveness out of the nurses at all. I literally spent all day, from morning till night, in the ER with an appendicitis. If you know anything about appendicitis, you know that the longer you have to wait, the more of a chance is will burst, which could lead to death. I would recommend not being admitted to another part of the hospital if at all possible. What are supposed to be brief stays often turn into long stays due to staff negligence and incompetence. My mother was supposed to be in there only 3 nights but ended up staying 6 because the doctor assigned to her took her off her regular home medicine which sent her into seizures. New doctors are assigned to you every day or two, which means one course of treatment could be changed abruptly by someone who thinks they know better. Watch out for the young, inexperienced ones. Some have no business in the profession they are in. I will say that the physical therapy team at Washington Regional tends to have quality people who really know what they are doing. Unfortunately, they are in the minority. I agree with the reviews that say this place is like a black hole. Avoid in-patient treatment here if possible.

  My boyfriend was ran over by a car and the nurses at this hospital are very rude; they will talk to you like are stupid trash. An hour after getting here they had him get up and walk across the room; the doctor hadn't even seen him yet. Don't take your dog here. If I could rate 0 stars I would. PLEASE GO TO MERCY. That's where I had my daughter and my stay was wonderful. Wonderful staff, and doctors. Everyone is helpful there and the hospital is clean. Save yourself.
